Swami Vivekanand, born Narendra Nath Datt, was an Indian Hindu monk, philosopher, author, religious teacher and the chief disciple of the Indian Mystic Ramakrishna. He was also a major force in contemporary Hindu reform movements and contributed to the concept of nationalism in colonial India.
Vivekanand’s teachings instill a sense of courage and self – confidence in the youth. His teaching emphasized self discovery, universal harmony and service of humility. His famous quotes – “Anything” that make you weak physically, intellectually and spiritually reject it as poison.”
Influenced by this great personality the school was named Swami Vivekanand College. The name keeps inspiring us very day to follow his thoughts.
